Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations (COHEAO) Awards Six Scholarships

WASHINGTON, DC (July 13, 2021) – The Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations
(COHEAO) is pleased to announce the award of six $1,000 scholarships to students of member
institutions. Recipients of this year’s awards are:

Brianna Warren, University of Hartford-Daniel Padovano Memorial Scholarship
Clara Hong, Illinois College of Optometry-Harrison Wadsworth Scholarship
Jessie Chassan Taber, University of Chicago-COHEAO Scholarship
Marika Basagoitia, University of Hartford-COHEAO Scholarship
Teo Lin-Bianco, UC Berkeley-COHEAO Scholarship
Kiana Pino, Bryant University-COHEAO Scholarship

Scholarship winners were selected based on academic achievement, community service and future goals
that include public service or benefit to the community.

“All of us at COHEAO are pleased to be able to provide scholarships to help these very worthy students
achieve their educational goals. It is an honor to be a part of an organization that supports students
while providing assistance to our member institutions,” said Lori Hartung, COHEAO President.

She continued, “These young people all had impressive academic records, extensive community service commitments and admirable career goals that will provide a benefit to the public.”

Brianna Warren, University of Hartford, Daniel Padovano Memorial Scholarship said, “I am extremely
grateful for being chosen to receive the COHEAO Scholarship in the honor of Daniel Padovano. It means
so much to me to have this in the name of someone who passed away due to COVID, especially since I
was able to work at the vaccine clinics in the past year. This scholarship will allow me to further my
education, which hopefully involves going to physician’s assistant school and obtaining my master’s in
public health. Thank you so much for this scholarship and thank you to all the members and donators
who helped fund the scholarship program.

COHEAO’s primary fundraiser for the scholarship fund is a silent auction at its annual conference.
Donations can also be made by sending a check to COHEAO Scholarship Fund to COHEAO, 777 Sixth
Street NW, Suite 510, Washington, D.C. 20001-4498.
