FCRA and Credit Reporting

Financial Aid Fraud

ED’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) an independent entity within ED, is responsible for identifying fraud, waste, abuse, and criminal activity involving ED funds, programs, and operations.  It conducts criminal, civil and administrative investigations; independent audits and reviews; and recommends actions to address systemic weaknesses and improve ED programs and operations.  In this session, ED OIG will discuss its initiatives including fraud awareness and fraud prevention efforts.
