The U.S. Department of Education has published final regulations implementing the federal student loan provisions of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act (the legislation formerly known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act), including new graduate and professional loan limits, repayment-plan changes, and default-rehabilitation provisions.
For COHEAO members, the most important takeaway is that the final rule makes relatively few substantive changes from the proposed rule. The Department largely finalized the framework it proposed earlier this year.
