Today, the US Department of Education published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) stemming from the efforts Reimagining and Improving Student Education (RISE) negotiated rulemaking committee to develop regulations to implement the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
The RISE Committee, which included COHEAO Past President Lori Hartung as an alternate negotiator, addressed issues relating to federal student loans, including repayment and loan limits, and reached consensus on proposed regulations.
